Fionnghuala is experienced in civil and commercial litigation and dispute resolution, class actions, criminal prosecution, judicial review, and public law. She provides practical and strategic advice, and is a compelling advocate. Fionnghuala has particular expertise in urgent matters and obtaining interim orders to protect the interests of clients pending resolution of disputes.
Before forming Cuncannon with Kate, Fionnghuala was a civil and commercial litigation partner for ten years at Meredith Connell (the Office of the Crown Solicitor at Auckland).
Fionnghuala is a Senior Crown Prosecutor and member of the Cartel Prosecutors Panel. She is ranked for Dispute Resolution and Competition/Antitrust in Chambers and Partners.
Fionnghuala has taught Contract Law as an Adjunct Lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington and is a co-author of Mahoney on Evidence (2nd edition, Thomson Reuters, 2024).
